TESE/PESA

TESE/PESA

TESE

TESE is one of the assisted fertility methods that is performed with the help of a urologist in cases where the male factor is involved in couples’ infertility.
In this method, the surgeon removes a tissue from the patient’s testicle and delivers it to the andrology laboratory.
This tissue has been evaluated in the laboratory. And the suitable sperm sample to be used for fertilization with eggs or for freezing is sent to the embryology laboratory.
Usually, this method is used for people who have not seen sperm in their semen or who have high chromosomal breakage.

PESA

In this method, sperm is collected with a special needle. After preparing sterile conditions and local anesthesia (no need for general anesthesia), with the help of a syringe and insulin needle impregnated with a special substance, the sperms are drawn from the epididymis (the inner tube of the testis and the place of maturation and sperm storage) and delivered to the laboratory.
